
Maldives’ distinctive underwater features can be found all over the archipelago. This article is about a well-known dive site in the AA atoll of the Maldives.
This dive site is an isolated reef. It is about 15 meters high at the top of the reef. In terms of its shape, the reef can be described as having a square shape. It has a width of approximately 80 metres.
There are caves and overhangs on this reef, which are two of its distinguishing characteristics. In addition to that, there are ledges. Ledges have varying depths; they cause depth changes. These are slopes that change depth.
There are some caves at deeper levels. You will find a greater variety of fish on the western and northern sides of this reef.
The surrounding reef features steep walls that reach a depth of approximately 35 metres.
This location is home to a tremendous variety of marine life.
Among the marine life that can be found here are Napoleon wrasse, grey reef sharks, and white tip sharks. There are also turtles, tuna, surgeonfish, mackerel, fusiliers, snappers, and other species of fish that can be seen here.
The plateau’s top is home to snappers and fusiliers. At the edge of the reef, you can see Napoleon wrasse, barracudas, and giant trevallies.
Simply relax in the water and witness the marine marvel of predatory fish cleaning themselves by flaring their gills and exposing themselves. These shallow areas are frequented by certain species, such as sharks, to clean themselves and rid themselves of parasites. The top/current end is where you will find the grey reef sharks.
Fish Head is a thriving hub of marine life. Among the marine life you might spot are surgeonfish, pufferfish, mackerel, tuna, turtles, and white and grey reef sharks.
