The underwater world is full of life and vibrant creatures. Exploring and diving deep into the ocean for different reasons tells the stories of the underwater world. Divers who use cameras and videos to catch glimpses of bright, beautiful, and mysterious creatures, no matter how big or small, are some of the most important professionals.

This story is about a skilled diver from Fuvahmulah Island. While working on content for this website, I learnt about Abdulla Sivad‘s photos and videos. I was amazed to see the ‘precise’, elegant, and flawless photos and videos he has taken and shared on Instagram and Facebook. He is a dive instructor at Bandos Maldives.

Capturing images or videos of some fish and creatures is extremely difficult. It is difficult to photograph a blenny, darter, goby, or hawkfish. Their elusive behaviour, movements, water clarity, and currents all pose challenges. Some species will flee; perhaps they are shy or timid. With all of these factors influencing the diver’s mind, those who have the skills can catch a glimpse of these species.

Sivad’s extensive photo and video collections contain breathtaking images of the vibrant species of the Maldives’ ocean. The camouflage octopus stays on the coral and suddenly swims to escape, the paper scorpion’s delicate and mysterious moves, the powerful punch of the mantis shrimp, and the groupers’ exquisite mouth and gill movements through the corals are all difficult to capture on video. However, he has expertly captured stunning videos and photographs of vibrant fish and species that inhabit the Maldivian ocean.

He has an extensive collection of photos and videos of fish and their movements, demonstrating their appearance and uniqueness. The blenny’s tender eye movement, the gentle movements of the anemone shrimp and their perfect glass-like bodies, the elegant movement of the cometfish, the action of the fast-moving reef sharks, the graceful and powerful glides of the manta rays, and the quick turns of the tiger sharks all contribute to the beauty of the Maldives’ underwater world. His creative collections capture the exquisite movements of fish in a remarkable way.

Underwater videography is a creative profession. Sivad has proven that the profession is fascinating and can reveal nature’s secrets and beauty. In the underwater world, he has captured some truly remarkable moments, demonstrating his exceptional storytelling and artistic abilities. He has depicted marine life in challenging circumstances in ways that are appealing. Sivad had the rare and historic opportunity to see the first bull shark in the Maldives.
